1 / Information we handle
We process account identifiers, name, work email, company and location, sign-in records; installer passport information including skills, stated availability, service area, rates and credential status; job briefs, applications, invitations, booking status, messages and bilateral reviews. Submitted credential evidence, if collected, must be treated as private and accessed only by authorised reviewers. We also process technical information needed to keep accounts secure and operate the site. Please avoid putting sensitive personal details into public profiles, job briefs or messages unless necessary.

- Providing the service: create accounts, display professional profiles, match job requirements with stated skills and availability, manage applications, bookings and messages. Where the user is party to our terms, this is generally necessary to perform a contract.
- Trust and safety: review credential claims, investigate misuse and maintain booking/review integrity. Our legitimate interests are operating a trustworthy professional marketplace, balanced against individuals’ rights; legal obligations may also apply.
- Legal and financial records: keep information needed for applicable accounting, tax and legal obligations.
- Service improvement: use appropriate operational information to understand whether jobs are being filled and improve matching, based on legitimate interests where applicable.
We do not use uploaded qualifications to invent competence or sell placement in search results. If optional marketing or non-essential tracking is introduced, it requires separate notices and any consent required by law.
3 / Who can see information
Visitors may see information intentionally placed on public installer profiles and live job listings. The hiring business, relevant installer and authorised platform staff may see booking and application information needed to manage a job. Messages are for the relevant participants and authorised staff where necessary for support, safety or disputes. Reviews are not revealed to the other party until both have submitted or the review window ends. Private verification evidence must not appear in public profiles.
We use service providers for hosting, authentication and operational delivery, and may disclose data where legally required. The final list of provider categories and any overseas processing locations must be confirmed before launch. If data is transferred outside the UK, appropriate UK transfer safeguards must be assessed and documented.
4 / How long information stays
We keep account and marketplace records while needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, protect the integrity of completed work history and meet applicable legal requirements. Different records may require different retention periods; a definitive schedule for accounts, credential evidence, messages, bookings and financial records has not yet been approved. Once periods are settled, this notice must state them or clear criteria for determining them. Deletion requests are assessed against any overriding legal or legitimate retention need.

Under UK data protection law you may be able to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to certain uses of your personal information. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. A working privacy contact must be added here before launch so you can exercise these rights directly with VinylLink.

The site uses browser storage to keep you signed in and maintain account security. Such storage is necessary for the requested service; you may clear it through your browser or sign out, but account features may stop working. We have not added advertising or optional analytics cookies to the site. If those are introduced, they must not run until an appropriate choice has been offered and recorded.
